WHO

Duke, Michigan State, Kentucky and Kansas.

WHAT

The State Farm Champions Classic is an early-season marquee basketball event which debuted in November of 2011, at Madison Square Garden in New York. Duke faced Michigan State in the first game, and Kentucky edged Kansas in the second.

WHEN

Year 1 of the State Farm Champions Classic took place on Nov. 15, 2011, at Madison Square Garden in New York. Year 2 takes place on Nov. 13, 2012, and will be hosted by the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Michigan State will face Kansas and Duke will face off against Kentucky. Year 3 will be held at the United Center in Chicago on Nov. 12, 2013. Michigan State will Kentucky and Kansas will go up against Duke.

WHERE

The Georgia Dome will host Year 2 of the State Farm Champions Classic – on Nov. 13, 2012. The United Center will be the venue for Year 3 (Nov. 12, 2013).

HOW

Owned and operated by Charlotte, N.C.-based ESPN Regional Television (ERT), the State Farm Champions Classic is among a number of collegiate basketball events the company manages. Other events in its portfolio include:  Anaheim Classic (Anaheim, Calif.); Charleston Classic presented by Foster Grant (S.C.); Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic (Honolulu); Old Spice Classic (Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla.); Puerto Rico Tip-Off (San Juan); the All-College Basketball Classic (Oklahoma City); and BracketBusters.


TV: Games will be televised on an ESPN network to be determined.
